Xiaomi has just released the Redmi K90 Pro Max alongside the Redmi K90. At least for now, the company has decided against offering a Redmi K90 Pro. Nonetheless, the Redmi K90 Pro Max appears to directly replace the Redmi K80 Pro.
Therefore, it seems that the Redmi K90 Pro Max is a probable candidate for the successor to this year's Poco F7 Ultra (curr. $759 on Amazon). Available globally with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, the Poco F7 Ultra features a considerably smaller battery than the Redmi K80 Pro. Specifically, Xiaomi equips the latter with a 6,000 mAh battery but a 5,300 mAh equivalent in the Poco F7 Ultra.
Based on early evidence, Xiaomi plans to pull a similar trick with the Poco F8 Ultra. According to PaperKing13, Xiaomi has already added battery capacity references for the global version of the Redmi K90 Pro Max to HyperOS 3. For context, Xiaomi equips the Chinese model with a 7,560 mAh battery for a 26% upgrade on the Redmi K80 Pro.
By contrast, the evidence presented indicates that Xiaomi will settle on a 6,500 mAh battery for its global counterpart with support for 100 W wired charging. On the one hand, this would represent a 23% improvement over the Poco F7 Ultra and its 5,300 mAh battery. On the other hand, a 6,500 mAh battery inside the Poco F8 Ultra would be a 14% decrease from the Redmi K90 Pro Max. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen when Xiaomi will launch the former globally.
