Previously, a leak revealed a retail box of an unannounced OnePlus phone named the Ace 6 Pro Max. Now, a popular tipster, Smart Pikachu, has revealed some additional details of the upcoming phone.
The tipster has revealed that it will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. This is a new performance-oriented chipset positioned below the flagship 8 Elite Gen 5. The tipster adds that the device will feature 12GB or 16GB LPDDR5X RAM with 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB UFS 4.1 storage options.
Moreover, the OnePlus Ace 6 Pro Max is tipped to come in three color options, including Flash Black, Electric Purple, and Shadow Green. In a follow-up comment, the tipster also mentioned that the phone may feature a 165Hz display. Additionally, the tipster hinted that the camera may take a back seat, as the phone is positioned as a performance-oriented model.
For reference, the OnePlus Ace 6 which launched in October, also has a performance-centric approach with Snapdragon 8 Elite. In the camera department, it features a 50MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultrawide lens. The Ace 6 has a 7,800mAh battery. Meanwhile, the Ace 6 Pro Max is expected to bring an even larger battery surpassing 8,000mAh capacity.
The Ace 6 launched in China starting at CNY 2,599, which roughly translates to $364. Hence, the Ace 6 Pro Max may launch in the early CNY 3,000 range, as the company offers its flagship OnePlus 15 with a starting price of CNY 3,999.
The launch of the new phone appears to be near, as suggested by the tipster. Globally, the phone may launch under a different moniker.
