Rockstar's parent company, Take-Two Interactive continues to focus on delivering what is potentially the biggest launch of 2025 on time, as confirmed by none other than the company's CEO.

Grand Theft Auto VI continues to take center stage as Take-Two (NASDAQ:TTWO) and Rockstar gear up for a Fall 2025 launch, exactly as promised.

What's quite possibly the most highly anticipated game of 2025 might be coming on time after all as per recent commentary by the Take-Two Interactive team even as rumors continue to point to a potential delay.

Remarks by the CEO Strauss Zelnick indicate that GTA VI is getting closer to its release date while targeting a launch window towards the end of the year. Here's what the man had to say while commenting on Take-Two's launch-heavy 2025:

Looking ahead, this calendar year is shaping up to be one of the strongest ever for Take-Two, as Sid Meier’s Civilization VII launched in Early Access today, with the official launch on February 11th, and we also plan to release Mafia: The Old Country in the Summer, Grand Theft Auto VI in the Fall, and Borderlands 4 before year-end. We also remain confident in Zynga’s ability to create new mobile forever franchises as demonstrated by their ongoing success with Match Factory.

The CEO also noted that Grand Theft Auto V, the publisher's best-selling title to date has sold as many as 210 million copies as Red Dead Redemption 2 pushed past 70 million as of this quarter. Also of interest was growth in GTA+ which saw its active subscriber base increase by 10% year on year (YoY).

Strauss did however point to there being "a risk of slippage" and he did not want to "jinx things" while expressing that the company "feel really good about it" and that it is "super excited" about the title in an interview with IGN ahead of its earnings call.

GTA VI marks a break from Rockstar's recent strategy of releasing titles on consoles first with a staggered launch, often years later on PC (which was what happened to titles such as GTA V and RDR 2) by aiming to launch on all 3 major platforms (PlayStation, Xbox and PC) simultaneously. This has increased fears by fans that the title could suffer from potential delays that could see it moving towards a 2026 launch window.
