GTA Online has been recently updated, and in the new update, the developers have added new content, which includes new vehicles and missions. The update also has an in-game message from Lester, a fan-favorite character from Grand Theft Auto 5. Fans believe that with this message, Rockstar Games is teasing the return of the character in GTA 6, which is slated for a Fall 2025 release.
This could very well be another wild theory surrounding GTA 6 and its characters, but it does have some logic behind it. As for the in-game message, Lester basically discusses his life in retirement, and some aspects of the message have made fans believe that the Grand Theft Auto 5 character may be enjoying his retirement in Vice City.
To fill you in, Grand Theft Auto 6 is set in the fictional state of Leonida, which has Vice City. Seeing the message, fans started to theorize that Rockstar Games may be setting the story of GTA 6 Online mode, in which Lester will be coming back to the series.
Lester's re-appearance in the franchise wouldn't be surprising to see, though. Johnny Klebitz from Grand Theft Auto 4 made his return in GTA 5, and there are multiple other characters that can be found in different games of the series. Of course, while Lester's return seems plausible, especially in GTA 6 Online, this is still a theory at the current stage and won't be confirmed until the release of the game.
