CES 2025 | Samsung announces QS700F and Q990F soundbars with new Eclipsa Audio
Samsung has launched two new soundbars at CES 2025: the QS700F and the Q990F. These latest models feature various upgrades over older speakers like the Q990D (curr. $1,997.99 at Amazon).
The HW-QS700F does not have a direct predecessor. An integrated gyro sensor is said to allow for intelligently optimized sound based on the position of the soundbar. Plus, it comes with a compact wireless subwoofer to boost bass. The HW-Q990F is Samsung’s latest flagship model, an 11.1.4 channel soundbar with support for Dolby Atmos. Like the QS700F, it comes with a wireless subwoofer, as well as two rear satellite speakers.
Both soundbars can be wall-mounted or placed on a media unit. Features include Active Voice Amplifier Pro for enhanced dialogue clarity, and Q-Symphony Pro balances sound across built-in speakers on a compatible TV and external speakers. On top of this, there is the new Eclipsa Audio, which Samsung has developed in partnership with Google. This is a free-to-use alternative to Dolby Atmos for 3D spatial audio. It allows creators to control various aspects of the audio, such as intensity and location. Samsung has yet to announce the pricing and release date of the HW-QS700F and HW-Q990F soundbars.
