Galaxy A56 shown in TENAA photos, confirms camera redesign and metal frame
New images from TENAA, the Chinese telecommunications certification organization, have revealed what is likely the final design of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A56. The standout in the new mid-range phone's design is its revamped camera module.
While Samsung's Galaxy A-series of smartphones has long mirrored the Galaxy S-series in terms of camera design, the Galaxy A56 is bringing a slight revamp. Instead of the isolated triple lens setup Samsung has used for the past several years, the A56 will house the lenses in an elevated dais of sorts, harkening back to the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 20 released half a decade ago.
The photos from TENAA also show what appears to be a full metal frame and other similarities to the Galaxy A55. This means the Galaxy A56 will likely have a glass back, just as its predecessor did. It also looks as though the bezels and overall footprint will closely match those of the Galaxy A55.
Rumors speculate that the Galaxy A56 will be powered by Samsung's Exynos 1580, a refinement of and slight bump over the Exynos 1480 beating at the Galaxy A55's heart. Battery capacity is expected to carry over, though it may charge slightly faster at 45 Watts (compared to the Galaxy A55's 25 Watts).
The Galaxy A56 is expected to launch soon, as support pages for the handset have already launched on Samsung's French website. Current guesses point to March as a potential release date, which coincides with previous Galaxy A-series devices.
