The version of the Galaxy A06 currently available on Amazon is about to be overshadowed by its 5G-capable variant, according to a new leak. It suggests that the new smartphone will be released to a specific country to start with.
A new device has been issued with its own support page on Samsung's site for Indian consumers. It is known by the model number SM-A066B/DS, thought to correspond to the A06 5G, as its rumored twin the F06 5G is thought to be the SM-E066B/DS.
On that note, Samsung India has prepared another new support page for that device, suggesting that it too will soon be on the Indian market.
The "Samsung SM-A066B/DS" has also recently surfaced on Geekbench in a leak that seems to confirm that it will run Android 15 out of the box. It is also thought to be powered by a chipset with 8 ARM cores clocked at between 2.0 and 2.4GHz - just like the Dimensity 6300 SoC of the Galaxy A16 5G.
However, the "A06 5G" is also now associated with the Mali-G615 MC2, a new version of a GPU that tends to belong to the Dimensity 7300 instead. Therefore, the upcoming smartphone might be marketed as having some new version of the 6300 - if not one of an entirely new and different name.
Then again, it has only been spotted with 4GB of RAM thus far, whereas the A16 5G can have up to 8GB.
