The Yashica City 100 and City 200 are intended to be affordable digital cameras. The main difference between the two models is the lens, with the City 100 having 3x optical zoom and the more expensive City 200 10x.
Both cameras have a 13 MP sensor in 1/3.06 inch format, which makes the sensor even smaller than most inexpensive mid-range smartphones. The sensor takes photos in 4:3 format instead of the more common 3:2 format while 4K videos can be recorded at 60 frames per second. Thanks to autofocus and auto exposure, users only have to press the shutter button to get sharp, correctly exposed photos.
An integrated flash allows users to take photos at night without needing to use the maximum ISO range of ISO 3,200, which is likely to lead to considerable image noise given the size of the sensor. The specs thus correspond to a compact camera from around 15 years ago. Similar to most compact cameras from Yashica, the City series is also likely to do without RAW and record photos exclusively in JPEG format. Surprisingly, Yashica has chosen to forgo Bluetooth and WLAN, and so wireless connectivity for transferring photos is lacking.
