The Vivo X Fold3 Pro is a smartphone with a total of 5 cameras; however, its successor is tipped to have just 4.
The influential leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS) does not specify which one is getting cut, although the 3 Pro's Zeiss-branded periscope zoom lens is apparently to be retained, meaning its main, rear ultrawide-angle lens, 32MP cover screen selfie camera and its twin for the main display are apparently all possibly on the chopping block.
DCS also now asserts that the next-gen foldable device might launch with cut-backs to its "peripheral specifications" compared to its forebear. That is a vague term that might refer to anything from the X Fold3 Pro's up-to-date Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity with aptX support (like the cost-effective EarFun Air Pro 4 earbuds that are currently discounted to just under $63 on Amazon) to its particularly fast USB 3.2 Gen 2 type-C port.
Then again, the tipster does not expressly name the foldable device in question, meaning that it could also pertain to other handsets such as the next-gen Honor Magic V-series flagship. Its identity notwithstanding, it is also projected to retain its support for wireless charging, an impressive feat even in 2024.
2025's Magic V and X Fold are also thought to launch with larger batteries closer to 6,000mAh in capacity, yet to be lighter than their respective forebears.
However, they might also have to contend with the OnePlus Open 2, a device tipped to have all of the same advantages and to be thinner, too, with current estimates putting it at only 8.9mm at most when closed.
