An early sign that Motorola is preparing to release a new set of foldable smartphones has surfaced online. For reference, the company unveiled two models at the start of last summer as the Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra in most markets and the Razr 2024 and Razr 2024 Plus (curr. $999.99 on Amazon) in North America.
Instead, the company appears focused on refreshing the Moto G series, having unveiled new versions of the Moto G and Moto G Power earlier today. Nonetheless, the appearance of 'XT2551' at the Bureau of Indian Standards effectively confirms that a new Motorola foldable is in the works. The image embedded below does not provide any extra information about the unreleased devices, nor does its model number directly.
One can infer that XT2551 is the successor to the XT2541 though, which is the model number for the Razr 50 Ultra. Incidentally, the latter was not spotted at the BIS until April, three months later into the year than the XT2451. Thus, various outlets have come to the conclusion that next-generation Razr foldables will debut shy of the summer. Details about possible upgrades for the Razr 60 Ultra remain unknown for now, although a new chipset than the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 would be likely.
