Samsung currently sells three foldable smartphones, although only two of them are available worldwide. Nonetheless, the company's OLED and QD-OLED panel manufacturer continues to showcase more innovative display technology than Samsung offers in either the Galaxy Z Fold6 or Galaxy Z Flip6 (curr. $894.97 on Amazon).
For context, Samsung Display revealed earlier this week that it would be exhibiting three new panels at CES 2025 in Las Vegas. Specifically, it shared images of the IT Foldable, Slidable Flex Duet and Slidable Flex Vertical while also detailing 4,000-nit QD-OLED panels intended for future Smart TVs. Accordingly, Samsung Display has now shared short videos of all three devices, which we have embedded below.
However, it has also been spotted demonstrating its tri-foldable concept once again. This time, the company had two versions on display, as well as the IT Foldable, Slidable Flex Duet and Slidable Flex Vertical, among other foldables.
On the one hand, Samsung Display continues to develop a concept that resembles the Huawei Mate XT's form factor with a portion exposed when it is closed. For reference, this was previously known as the 'Flex S'.
On the other hand, its other tri-foldable concept folds like a Galaxy Z Fold with an extra side. Reputedly, this second option, known as Flex G at CES 2022, is the testbed for Samsung's first tri-foldable. Unfortunately, Samsung is not expected to deliver its alternative to the Mate XT until 2026 at the earliest.
