Xiaomi launched the Mix Flip last year as a direct reply to Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip6. The foldable appears to have sold well, with reports now surfacing about the company's plans to bring a successor to the market. According to a new leak, said successor is set to launch with an impressive battery upgrade.
As revealed by Kartikey Singh, the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is slated to arrive this year with a battery in the region of 5600 mAh. That would be a significant upgrade from the 4780 mAh unit on the first-gen Mix Flip. This follows the recent trend of Xiaomi increasing the battery capacities of its new devices, thanks to the improved energy density offered by silicon-carbon battery technology.
A battery capacity of 5600 mAh would mean the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 debuts with a bigger battery than its rivals. For example, the Galaxy Z Flip6 launched with a 4000 mAh battery and the Z Flip7 is expected to be the same—highlighting the massive advantage Xiaomi's foldable would have in this department.
