Vivo unveiled the Pad 3 Pro as its most recent flagship Android tablet - however, its successor is thought to become the 5 Pro, as the OEM usually prefers to skip the number 4 in naming its products.
The slate might have to take that name in order to distinguish itself from the supposedly upcoming Oppo Pad 4 Pro in any case - although one is not likely to be mistaken for the other in terms of specs, according to the latest leaks.
They suggest that the "Pad 5 Pro" is in fact the mystery tablet with 66W charging from an earlier tip. If so, that means it would charge slower compared to its supposed Oppo rival on its launch.
It might have the bigger battery of the 2, however, at 11,790mAh in capacity.
That might be rounded up to 12,000mAh for marketing purposes - although that would still fail to represent a truly substantial improvement over the ~11,500mAh Pad 3 Pro.
The 5 Pro is thought to rock the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC rather than the 9300 of its predecessor - which, again, might not be enough to beat the Snapdragon 8 Elite silicon linked to the Pad 4 Pro.
The "Pad 5 Pro" is also apparently destined for the same cameras, 8 to 16GB RAM SKUs and even pretty much the same ~13-inch 3.1K 144Hz LCD screen as the 3 Pro.
It is backed to debut alongside the Vivo X200 Ultra and X200s in April 2025, possibly with some peripherals such as new earbuds and a new Watch for company.
