New Vivo Watch GT smartwatch with eSIM and 21-day battery life arrives
Vivo has revealed a new smartwatch, the Watch GT, in China. The wearable was teased on social media earlier in May before launching at an event alongside the Vivo S19 and S19 Pro smartphones.
The Watch GT has a rectangular 1.85-inch AMOLED display with a 390 x 450 px resolution and a crown in the centre of the right-hand side. As expected, the Watch GT supports eSIM, allowing you to send texts and make calls without your phone. Blue River OS also brings various AI tools like taking dictated notes and generating bespoke watch displays. Other features include an always-on display setting, health monitoring and exercise tracking. The rumored 21-day battery life while using Bluetooth has been confirmed, but the watch is only expected to last for three days with typical use when the eSIM is active.
The watch itself weighs around 33g (~1.2 oz) and the straps are detachable, allowing you to customize the wearable's appearance. Customers can currently choose between a black watch and silicone band or a white version with a leather strap. Plus, blue and pink variants are expected to arrive at a later date. You can now buy the black or white Vivo Watch GT in China for 799 yuan (~$112) or 899 yuan (~$127), respectively. The company has yet to announce any plans to launch the wearable globally.
