Leaked Oppo Find N5 specs reveal improved design, magnetic wireless charging support, and more
The anticipation for the Oppo Find N5 (and OnePlus Open 2) is pretty high considering Oppo decided to not launch it this year. While a leak from October revealed it would arrive in the first quarter of 2025 alongside the Find X8 Ultra, a new report sort of reiterates the release date and provides more technical details about the next-gen Oppo foldable.
According to a post on Weibo by a user named Smart Pikachu, the Oppo Find N5 will be the top foldable smartphone for at least the first half of 2025. Oppo is reported to have made the Find N5 slimmer and lighter. For context, the Find N3 has a thickness of 5.8 mm and 11.7 mm when unfolded and folded respectively. It also weighs 245 g (239 g for the variant with a leather back). Will the Find N5 be able to beat the Honor Magic V3's thickness record of 4.4 mm unfolded and 9.3 mm folded?

The source also revealed that the Find N5 will have a stronger frame. This combined with an earlier report that said it will feature an improved ingress protection means an improved build overall. The Find X3/OnePlus Open (curr. available for $1,299.99 on Amazon) has an IPX4 splash resistant rating which lags behind the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6' IPX8 water resistance rating.
A more interesting feature revealed by the leaker is that the Oppo Find N5 will have support for Oppo's magnetic wireless charging ecosystem like the Find X8 series. It will also work with Apple's own MagSafe accessories. This is a big deal considering the Find N3 doesn't have support for wireless charging. Last but not least is that Oppo's upcoming foldable will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
All of the aforementioned Find N5 features should be found on the OnePlus Open 2 since the latter is expected to be a rebadge/international version of the Find N5.
