Analyst gives verdict on state of new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE release
The release of Samsung's next foldable smartphones are still a way off. Nonetheless, that has not stopped reliable leakers speculating on what is to come after the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 (curr. $675 - renewed on Amazon). For instance, there have been suggestions that Samsung will release two Galaxy Z Fold models next year, including a new Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition.
Additionally, talk has also turned to the possibility of the company introducing a pair of Galaxy Z Flip foldables too. Based on previous rumours, it seemed that Samsung intends to expand the Galaxy Z Flip series with a Fan Edition (FE) model.
However, the so-called Galaxy Z Flip7 FE may feature Samsung's Exynos 2400 chipset to keep costs down. Incidentally, a similar fate may befall the Galaxy Z Flip7, details of which we have covered separately. While similar rumours emerged last year before the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip6, more reliable leakers have now thrown their weight behind such a device actually existing.
To that end, Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) claims that those looking forward to a potentially cheaper Galaxy Z Flip 'should be excited'. Allegedly, the first FE clamshell will be arriving next year as part of Samsung's seventh-generation release. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen whether the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 FE will be introduced simultaneously nor how Samsung will distinguish the pair in areas beyond their chipsets.
