New leaks have now thrown some light on Samsung's next-gen foldable phones, namely the Galaxy Z Fold6 and rumored Galaxy Z Flip FE. For the latter, it's good news; for the former, fans are unlikely to be thrilled.

After releasing the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 months ago, Samsung already has its sights set on the next generation of its foldable devices, with word now surfacing in the wild about the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip FE.

For starters, it appears the Galaxy Z Fold7 could arrive with a 50 MP main camera yet again. That's unlikely to excite fans of the series as the Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Fold5, and Galaxy Z Fold4 all came equipped with the same 50 MP sensor—the 1/1.56-inch ISOCELL GN3.

As recently reported, the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition's 200 MP camera outperforms the Galaxy Z Fold6's 50 MP snapper significantly. That would make the potential lack of an upgrade on the Z Fold7 rather bewildering, especially since the Z Fold SE manages to also be thinner than the standard Z Fold6 (buy on Amazon).

On the lower end of the price scale, Samsung is also expected to launch the Galaxy Z Flip FE next year as a mid-range foldable of sorts. The standard Galaxy Z Flip typically outsells the Z Fold by a good margin, likely due to its affordability, and the Galaxy Z Flip FE will be an attempt to go further down that path. Supposedly, the first "Fan Edition" foldable will be identical to the standard Galaxy Z Flip7, with the exception of its chipset.

Considering the differences between the Galaxy S24 and S24 FE, it's a tad difficult to believe that the Galaxy Z Flip FE will be a replica of the Z Flip7 outside of its SoC. While the Galaxy Z Flip line has never served to showcase Samsung's best hardware, it's more likely that the Galaxy Z Flip FE features thicker bezels and worse cameras in addition to a weaker chipset. We'll keep you updated on this either way.
