Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim leak details the rumored 'Ultra' camera

Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S25 series in January 2025, but the rumored Slim model could be introduced later. A previous report by the prominent leaker Ice Universe suggested that this new model would feature an "Ultra" camera. However, the tipster didn't share any further details about it.

A new leak from X user @Saaaanjjjuuu has now detailed the possible camera setup the rumored Galaxy S25 Slim could feature. According to the leaker, the Slim model within the upcoming series will sport a 200 MP primary camera. This could be the "Ultra" camera that Ice Universe was talking about, and @saaaanjjjuuu reports that it will be the yet-to-be-announced Isocell HP5 sensor.

Past reports revolving around the same sensor claimed that it would measure 1/1.3-inch, but @Saaaanjjjuuu reports otherwise. The leaker says that it will measure 1/1.56-inch, smaller than the HP2 that the Galaxy S24 Ultra features (S24 FE curr. $474.99 on Amazon). Samsung will reportedly pair it with an ultrawide and a telephoto, both of which are reported to be the JN5 sensors.

However, given that the Galaxy S25 Slim is rumored to be slimmer than the standard variant, Samsung could use the All Lenses on Prism (ALoP) design for the telephoto. The company recently showcased it, and compared to the traditional periscope design, the ALoP design allows the lenses to be packed a little more tightly. 

That said, unlike the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra, the rumored Slim model isn't expected to feature a second telephoto sensor. While that would make it a little less versatile than the Ultra model, the single 50 MP telephoto is said to offer 3.5x optical zoom. Paired with AI-powered digital zoom, it could be good enough for detailed zoomed-in shots.
