A new version of the Xming V1 projector is about to launch in China, according to the brand's social media. Xming is a dedicated smart home projector brand that sells some models globally under the brand Formovie. The original V1 1080p smart projector was released in this market in 2023.
The New V1 is said to be brighter thanks to the refreshed Cangguang S80 series optical engine. It offers up to 950 CVIA lumens brightness, an improvement on the 800 CVIA lumens of the older model. It has a native 1080p resolution with MEMC motion smoothing. The company has also revealed that the new model will have two 6W Boston Acoustics speakers with support for Dolby Audio.
However, Xming has yet to announce the other features of the New V1, including the maximum recommended image size and throw ratio. The original has a 1.22:1 throw ratio and can project images up to 120 inches wide. This model has a 2,000:1 contrast ratio, with image-perfecting tools like screen fit, screen alignment and keystone correction. Plus, it offers Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, an HDMI 2.1 port and support for voice commands.
The Xming New V1 projector will launch in China on February 27th, though the price remains unclear. As a guide, the original projector retails for CNY 2,399 (~$330). It is uncertain whether or when this model will be available in other markets. In the meantime, you could consider a product like the NexiGo PJ40 (Gen 3) Projector (curr. $ at Amazon).
