IKEA INSPELNING cheap smart plug with energy monitoring now available
IKEA has launched the INSPELNING Plug, smart/energy monitor in several countries worldwide. The company announced the product earlier this year, and it was then spotted in the IKEA Home app.
So far, two versions of the INSPELNING smart Plug are available: one for US Type B plugs and a second for a round Type C plug used in areas like Europe. The device allows you to switch regular household appliances on or off using remote controls. For example, when you pair the INSPELNING with a DIRIGERA hub, you can control it and track your power consumption in the IKEA Home smart app. On top of this, you could link it to a sensor like the VALLHORN wireless motion sensor, which could be used to trigger an ordinary lamp when someone is detected.
The IKEA INSPELNING is currently available in the US and a few European countries like Sweden for $11.99/99 SEK. The smart home product is expected to shortly roll out to more EU countries priced at €9.99. It is unclear when a version for UK customers could arrive and at what price.
