Philips Hue launches new Tento square smart ceiling light

The Philips Hue Tento ceiling panel square has been launched in the EU. The smart lighting product was revealed earlier this year and follows an older round version. Customers can choose between two frame colors, black and white, and two sizes, small (29.5 x 29.5 cm/11.6 x 11.6 inches) and medium (39.5 x 39.5 cm/15.6 x 15.6 inches).

The small Tento ceiling light is also available with different lighting styles. Both sizes can come with White ambiance, allowing you to adjust the color temperature between 2,200K and 6,500K, or White and color ambiance which adds multicolored lighting. For these two options, the small panel offers up to 1,340 lumens brightness, while the medium size delivers 2,000 lumens.

There is also a cheaper warm white, small Tento ceiling panel with 1,650 lumens of brightness and a light color temperature of 2,700K. Every version's integrated LED light source is expected to last up to 25,000 hours. As with other Philips Hue products, you can remotely control the smart lights via an app or voice commands, though the Philips Hue Bridge (curr. $39.98 at Amazon) is required to unlock all features.

Pricing of the Philips Hue Tento ceiling panel starts from €69.99; a complete price list is below. It is worth noting that some variants are not currently in stock. Whether or when these products could launch in other markets like the US or the UK remains to be seen.
