TP-Link reveals new Tapo H110 smart universal remote and hub
TP-Link has revealed the Tapo H110 Smart IR & IoT Hub, now available in Japan. The product is a smart universal infrared remote, which you can use to control a wide range of devices in your home.
The Tapo H110 supports 21 types of devices, like TVs, lights, air conditioners and fans, and is compatible with over 8,000 brands. This includes many older products, and the database is updated with new items quarterly. As well as controls via the remote, the Matter-compatible hub allows you to control connected devices from third-party apps and with voice assistants like Siri, Alexa and Google Assistant. Plus, you can adjust devices in the TP-Link app, even when you are away from home. The app also allows you to set up schedules, geofencing and trigger scenes using smart sensors or cameras. Other features include an integrated 93 dB siren and offline controls in case the external network goes down.
TP-Link suggests that it is easy to add devices to the IoT Hub with a few button clicks. The TP-Link Tapo H110 Smart IR & IoT Hub is available in Japan for ¥3,980 (~$26.13/€23.99). It is unclear whether or when the product could arrive in other markets like the US, where the company already sells smart home devices like the TP-Link Tapo 2K Pan/Tilt Security Camera (curr. $34.99 for a 2-pack at Amazon).
