Philips Hue update brings three new features to smart lights
The Philips Hue apps for iOS and Android have been updated to version 5.28.0. This is the second app update this month, following the release of version 5.27.0 earlier this month, which brought a Do not disturb feature to sensors and cameras and an augmented reality tool for iOS users.
Version 5.28.0 brings three new lighting features for all users. These include four new effects, which can be found under the Effects icon: Cosmos, Underwater, Enchant, and Sunbeam. On top of this, users can now customize all effects, adjusting the base color, brightness and transition speed. Plus, there is the option to create your own effects using these three settings. There is also a new Scattered light style, though this is only available for gradient lights like the Philips Hue Signe Smart Floor Lamp (curr. $256.49 at Amazon).
There is a fourth change for iPhone users running iOS18: the ability to set the Hue app icon and associated widgets to ‘Dark’ or ‘Tinted’ to suit your Home Screen. You can now download the Philips Hue app version 5.28.0 from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
