Sonos releases Android app update with improved queue management
Sonos has released an app update for Android users. Version 80.09.06 is said to bring a range of improvements and a new feature to customers. The release notes for Sonos app version 80.09.06 state that the queue management system has been optimized, with the ability to reorder or delete items.
Another enhancement comes for the TalkBack function, Sonos’ voice command technology, which can be customized in Settings. The music library indexing and its reliability are also said to have been improved, though Sonos notes this requires users to have the latest player update, version 81.1-58074 (or higher). On top of this, users have a new feature that allows them to schedule System Updates.
Sonos indicates that this is a phased rollout, which began on October 15th; the expected completion date has yet to be announced. When Sonos app version 80.09.06 is available, you will be able to download it via the Google Play Store. The iOS app was recently updated to version 80.09.09, though the change log only notes ‘bug fixes and stability improvements’. The improved queue management arrived for iPhone users with version 80.09.07/80.09.08 in September.
