Nubia Z70 Ultra: First official images of new Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship published online
ZTE is gradually revealing more information about its next Nubia-branded flagship. To recap, the company shared camera samples of the Nubia Z70 Ultra at the start of the month. Following that, it confirmed that the device would feature new under-display camera (UDC) technology, which will sit behind a 6.85-inch display.
Now, the first official render images of the same device have been published on Weibo. In short, the Nubia Z70 Ultra builds on the design language of this summer's Nubia Z60 Ultra Leading Version (curr. $689 on Amazon). However, ZTE has made a few tweaks to help distinguish the former from the latter.

For example, ZTE has repositioned the primary camera to the device's top left corner. As a result, the Nubia Z70 Ultra's ultra-wide-angle camera has moved, albeit in place of where the telephoto camera was on its predecessor. Incidentally, the latter has a much smaller camera housing than recent Nubia Z series telephoto cameras, despite having a periscope lens and an advertised 100x digital zoom.
Moreover, the Nubia Z70 Ultra's primary camera will have an adjustable aperture. With that being said, it seems unlikely that this single camera will have an f/1.59-f/4.0 aperture. Instead, we suspect that these values apply to all its cameras, as well as the 13-70 mm equivalent focal length also shown.
Meanwhile, the same images provide a look at the device's interrupted 6.85-inch display. For context, this huge panel will output at 1.5K with a 144 Hz refresh rate and 2,000 nits peak brightness. Currently, ZTE is expected to officially introduce the Nubia Z70 Ultra on November 21, but only in China.
