Huawei is yet to officially reveal a launch date for the Mate 70 series but its CEO has let the cat out of the bag. The Chinese tech giant's next flagship series will debut in China but it is not yet known if it will get a global release.

The past few weeks have seen multiple Chinese manufacturers announce new flagship phones, and it seems the trend will continue right until the end of the year. Huawei is the latest to join the list as it has announced a launch date for the Mate 70 series.

The launch date for the upcoming flagship series was revealed by Yu Chengdong (Richard Yu), the CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group at the Guanghzou Auto Show. According to the top executive, the Mate 70 series will be unveiled on November 26. However, it won't just be the Mate 70 series Huawei will be announcing on the said date.

The launch event will also see Huawei announce a new luxury car brand called Maextro, which is reported to be a collaboration with JAC. This explains why the launch date for the Mate 70 series was revealed at a car show. Maextro will join Airo, Luxeed, and Stelato as the fourth car brand under Huawei's Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA).

The Mate 70 series is expected to have at least three models. Alongside the standard Mate 70, there should also be a Mate 70 Pro and a Mate 70 Pro Plus. A fourth model has also been rumored. Going by the previous generation, this should be a successor to the Mate 60 RS Ultimate Design. However, a report from earlier this month said the phone might arrive as the Mate 70 Ultimate Design.

Last month, Huawei unveiled HarmonyOS NEXT, a new operating system that is supposed to replace Android. It is already available as a beta for some of its devices such as the Huawei Pura 70 (available on Amazon.de for €799), so it should be pre-loaded on the Mate 70 series.
