BOE is now tipped to help shrink smartphone display bezels to their greatest extent with the introduction of a new display panel. It is allegedly pitched at premium or premium mid-range Android devices of the near future, and may help them avoid having a traditional 'screen chin' at all costs.

The high-end Xiaomi 15 builds on the reputation of its high screen-to-body ratio predecessor the 14 (currently available on Amazon) slimmest bezels of its series yet at 1.38 millimeters (mm) in depth. Its display is supplied by TCL CSOT; however, that company's rival BOE is tipped to challenge it with a new panel of comparable specs.

Like the 15, the next-gen screen has bezels of equal size on all 4 sides, according to the typically reliable leaker Digital Chat Station. They are also said to be about 1.4mm in depth, and is also of the on-trend 1.5K display found in new Android smartphones such as the iQoo Neo10 and 10 Pro.

If there is one thing this new display apparently can't do, it is follow the compact trend, with a diagonal length of 6.7 to 6.8 inches in diagonal length. It is reportedly destined for successors to sub-flagship, yet still premium, devices such as the Realme Neo 7, Redmi K80 or alleged OnePlus 13R.
