Casio has listed the G-Shock DW-5000R watch in the UK, with model number DW-5000R-1AER. The watch is described in the product listing as the DW-5000 Origin Revival wearable. The device celebrates the launch of the first G-Shock watch, which arrived in 1983.
The page on the G-Shock UK website also confirms the RRP of the DW-5000R-1AER, £179. This makes it more expensive than the DW-5600 wearables, which cost £99.90; the Casio DW5600E-1V is currently available at Amazon US for $44.97. Unfortunately, the site does not confirm the release date, with various rumors suggesting it will either arrive later this month or early in 2025. The model has also started to appear at third-party retailers in the EU, where it is seen with prices between €199 and €259. Casio has yet to officially announce the price of the watch in this region or reveal its release date here.
The DW-5000R watch can display time in 12 or 24 hour formats as well as the date and weekday. The calendar is fully automatic, and the wearable will remain accurate to within 15 seconds each month. Users can also set multiple alarms and use a countdown timer and stopwatch. The display can be illuminated thanks to an LED backlight, and the model is said to be water resistant to 200 m (~656 ft). The watch recently sold out in Japan where it is known as model DW-5000R-1AJF.
