Oppo insists that the launch of the K13 Turbo and Turbo Pro will be the culmination of 4 years' worth of development, because that is apparently how long the company has been working on the device's integrated "True Wind Tunnel" air intake technology.
The OEM indicates that the resulting smartphone chassis is "also fully waterproof", although, according to the typically accurate leaker Digital Chat Station, official IP68/69 ratings for smartphones equipped with them are not coming until the technology hits higher-end devices...like those of the OnePlus Ace series, maybe.
The first waterproof fan-equipped variant of this performance-focused line might debut as the "Ace 6 Extreme Edition", a successor to the 5 Ultra or Racing Editions.
Its launch is thought to unleash a deluge of similarly-equipped handsets from other brands such as Xiaomi thereafter.
Nevertheless, RedMagic will always be able to say it was doing active fans in smartphones before it was cool.
In the meantime, the K13 Turbo series has been revealed to be compatible with a version of Oppo's Ice Wing Magnetic Cooling Clip, which may or may not also hint at support for AirVOOC wireless charging in the upcoming performance-geared smartphones.
