The Realme 15 series is about a week away from launch, and when the series makes its debut in India, it will include two models — the Realme 15 and the Realme 15 Pro. However, unlike the Realme 14 series which includes the Realme 14 Pro+ model, that won't be the case with the Realme 15 series.
The info comes from Francis Wong, Realme's head of product marketing. According to a post made on X by the executive, they “won't be launching a (Realme) 15 Pro+ anymore”. Instead, the Realme 15 Pro will be the successor to the Realme 14 Pro+ (read our review) while the Realme 15 will be the successor to the Realme 14 Pro (12GB+512GB version currently available on Amazon.de for €299).
This decision was made to simplify the product line. The manufacturer didn't say if the other members of the Realme 14 series such as the Realme 14x, Realme 14 Pro Lite, and Realme 14T will also not be getting successors.
While we aren't against a simplified product line, Realme's explanation that the Realme 15 Pro succeeds the Realme 14 Pro+ is a little hard to accept considering the Realme 15 Pro is a sort of downgrade, specifically in the camera department.
It has been confirmed that the Realme 15 Pro will have two rear cameras, both of which are 50MP sensors. However, the Realme 14 Pro+ launched with three rear cameras — a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP telephoto camera with OIS and 3x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide angle camera.
Save for the downgraded camera, the Realme 15 Pro actually does come with some notable upgrades such as a brighter display, a more powerful processor, and a bigger battery capacity.
This is almost the same case with the Realme 15 and the Realme 14 Pro, too. The Realme 15 will have a brighter display with a higher refresh rate, higher resolution cameras, a bigger battery capacity, and faster charging.
Both the Realme 15 and Realme 15 Pro will be announced on July 24.
