Nvidia’s upcoming GeForce RTX 50 series has had its specs spilled early, thanks to an accidental leak from one of their AIC brand partners. VideoCardz caught wind of it through some cached search engine results, and the details point to some substantial upgrades, especially with the shift to GDDR7 memory.
The leaked lineup includes five cards: the RTX 5090, RTX 5090D, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5070. While the manufacturer’s website didn’t show these details outright, some filtered listings gave away a lot about these upcoming GPUs.
Here’s the big stuff: the flagship RTX 5090 and its variation, the RTX 5090D, are supposed to come with 32GB of GDDR7 memory on a beefy 512-bit bus. That’s an improvement from the RTX 4090’s 24GB of GDDR6X on a 384-bit interface. Both of these models are said to pack 21,760 CUDA cores and stick to a 600W power limit.
Interestingly, the RTX 5090D is rumored to deliver the same gaming performance as the regular RTX 5090, but with weaker AI capabilities—something we’ve seen with other “D” variants in the current lineup.
For the mid-range crowd, the RTX 5080 is built on the GB203-400 GPU core and brings 10,752 CUDA cores, 16GB of GDDR7 memory on a 256-bit bus, and a 400W power draw. Meanwhile, the RTX 5070 Ti also has 16GB of GDDR7 memory but drops to 8,960 CUDA cores and a more manageable 285W power requirement.
Rounding out the list is the RTX 5070. It’s got 6,400 CUDA cores, 12GB of GDDR7 memory, and a 192-bit bus, making it the entry-level option in this group, for now.
Some cards we were expecting, like the RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060, didn’t show up in this leak. Word on the street is that these might hit the market later, possibly in the second quarter. Also missing is the RTX 5080D, which earlier rumors had hinted at but seems to have been scrapped.
Nvidia is kicking things off at CES 2025, where the RTX 5090, 5090D, and 5080 are expected to make their debuts. The RTX 5070 Ti and 5070 should follow later.
