Leaks surrounding the RTX 50-series "Blackwell"-based gaming GPUs have been a dime a dozen in the past few weeks. That is to be expected, considering that CES 2025, where the new graphics cards are on track to be unveiled, is just a few weeks away. Among the chatter, a recent leak zeroes in on the upcoming RTX 5080 GPU, and it appears there is some promising news for those holding out for that variant.
The leaked information, which comes courtesy of Benchlife, reveals that the upcoming RTX 5080 graphics card will feature a blistering 30 Gbps memory speed, which is a touch higher than every other GPU in the lineup, including the RTX 5090. All of the other members are expected to boast 28 Gbps memory speeds. This means that the RTX 5080 will flaunt a memory bandwidth of a whopping 960 GB/s, which is 34% higher than its predecessor. Of course, with its 512-bit bus, the RTX 5090 is well ahead with a memory bandwidth of 1.792 TB/s.
The RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, and possibly even the RTX 5070 are expected to be shown off at CES 2025. The other mid-range and entry-level GPUs are slated for a staggered release throughout 2025, and if the rumors are anything to go by, the RTX 5060 might end up being rather disappointing memory-wise, with just 8 GB of VRAM. The 5060 Ti will double that with a much more generous 16 GB, both running on the shiny new GDDR7 standard.
