Ahead of its imminent CES 2025 reveal, the Nvidia leaks continue to keep pouring in. This time, we get to see the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080's retail packaging in real life. It effectively confirms earlier reports that talked about its specs. Videocardz spotted the GPU box over at a now-deleted post on Chiphell.
This is an MSI Gaming Trio GeForce RTX 5080 variant, complete with three cooling fans. At the back, we can see the important bits- its specs. The graphics card comes with 16 GB of VRAM on a 256-bit bus. For I/O, you get three DP ports and one HDMI port. Unfortunately, it doesn't state their versions or list any new features slated to debut with Blackwell. The GeForce RTX 5080 is expected to hit shelves on January 21.
Unlike previous release cycles, it will be the first GPU out of the door, and not the top-spec GeForce RTX 5090. It makes sense from a business perspective, as the monstrous RTX 5090 with 32 GB of GDDR7 VRAM will easily overshadow the RTX 5080, which is shaping up to be little more than an incremental upgrade over its Ada Lovelace-based counterpart. The rumoured $300 price increase won't sit well with gamers, either.
