The ambitious fan-made remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is nearly done. The development team behind Skyblivion shared its first progress update of the new year, and from the looks of things, the remake is on track to release this year.
The project started in 2012 and was announced to the public in 2016. Skyblivion is, at heart, a total conversion mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, but with a far larger scope than most projects. This is essentially a ground-up remake of Oblivion in Skyrim's engine with reimagined visuals, quests, and RPG systems.

According to the roadmap, all but six of Oblivion's 200+ quests have been completed. Most of the landscapes and interiors are also done, and the team has added 24 new music tracks to Oblivion's original soundtrack. They are also actively looking for volunteers in various roles.
For now, the remake only reimagines the base game. It doesn't include content from the Shivering Isles expansion or other Oblivion DLCs, but the team has said they will share plans for DLCs after Skyblivion's launch.
