In BattleCap, you create your own battleships, not from wood or metal, but from bottle caps. The game supports up to four players in local PvE or PvP modes and has already garnered a positive reception on Steam.

BattleCap, an indie game from MechAlmond Productions, launched on Steam on December 31, 2024. The concept is straightforward yet engaging: Players sail across the ocean, building battleships from floating bottle caps. With roguelike elements woven into the gameplay, players can collect boons and artifacts to unlock special abilities, gradually strengthening their ships. Designed for up to four players, the game offers both competitive and cooperative experiences, although only in local multiplayer mode for now, an online mode is not yet available. The two main modes are:

  • Cap Party (PvP mode): Players face off in short rounds on constantly changing maps, with surprise mini-games thrown in for added fun.
  • Sea Monster Fishing (co-op PvE): Players team up to defend the nymph’s camp against waves of sea monsters, aiming to survive as long as possible.

BattleCap has been well-received, amassing over 180 positive reviews on Steam within just two days of its release. It also topped the "Hot Releases" ranking on SteamDB at the time of writing. Regularly priced at $11.50, the game is available at a 20% discount ($9.59) until January 6. For those unsure about committing, a free demo version is available to try before buying.
