The rumor mill about the Nintendo Switch successor (available on Amazon for $300) shows no signs of slowing down. Following a recent mega-leak that revealed technical specifications, another leak has surfaced, this time showcasing high-resolution photos of the new Joy-Con controllers. Additionally, fans of classic Nintendo titles have reason to celebrate, a new installment of Star Fox Adventures is reportedly in development.
Originally released in 2002 for the GameCube, Star Fox Adventures is a nostalgia-inducing classic for gaming veterans. The game is a spin-off of the Star Fox series, first popularized on the SNES and Nintendo 64, where players took on the role of Fox McCloud, battling enemy space fleets. With Star Fox Adventures, the iconic fox ventured into uncharted territory, starring in an action-adventure game featuring Zelda-like mechanics for the first time.
In Star Fox Adventures, players explore a Dinosaur Planet, solve puzzles, battle bizarre enemies and collect magical gems to save the planet from destruction. For those unfamiliar with the game, here’s your chance to get a closer look:
According to a well-known leaker, Star Fox Adventure is coming to the Switch 2 in 2025
The leaker Samus Hunter, known for a track record of accurate Nintendo predictions, shared an intriguing post on X (formerly Twitter) on December 31. In it, he promised fans a "Zelda-like" game set to release for the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025.
The mention of the word "adventure" immediately sparked speculation that the game could be Star Fox Adventures. Initially, many assumed it would be a remake. However, on January 2, Samus Hunter clarified in another post that it would be an entirely new game. He further stated:
"It's a little strange after Zero, resuming a formula from the most unique title in the series, but I've heard good things about it."
Many interpret this statement as a strong hint that Samus Hunter is referring to Star Fox Adventures, especially given that the series' most recent installment, Star Fox: Zero, was released for the Wii U. Whether fans will actually see a new Star Fox game remains to be seen. As usual, the leaker has not disclosed the source of this information, leaving fans to speculate further.
