There has been a surfeit of leaks and rumors surrounding the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 gaming console in the past few weeks, which is barely a surprise considering that the much-awaited console is mere weeks away from its official introduction, expected to be held sometime within this quarter. Nintendo has remained characteristically secretive, although the aforementioned leaks have made it possible for enthusiasts to temper their expectations.
A previous leak shed light on the internals of the Switch 2, revealing an 8nm Nvidia SoC with 12 GB of LPDDR5 memory, while a following leak served images of the console's Joy-Cons. The Switch successor is by no means meant to be a revolutionary leap in performance, but rather a generational update to keep up with the times. As more details keep coming to light, we now appear to have been granted a first glance at the Switch 2's dock.
But be cautioned - the leaked image of the Switch 2's dock refuses to give out as many details as we would've liked. All it reveals, are the input and output information, with all of the other details being blurred from sight. The source did mention that the Nintendo Switch 2 will ship with a 60-watt power adapter for the dock - a substantial increase from the 39-watt unit we currently have. The leak further stated that the present generation's adapter will no longer be compatible, at least when docked, which is hardly a shock considering the higher wattage. The current-generation Switch enjoys significantly higher GPU clocks when docked, and it seems the story will be much the same with its successor as well.
Although it goes without saying, there is no way for us to confirm the authenticity of this leak, even though there do not appear to be any red flags as of right now. That said, with the Nintendo Switch 2 set to hit the scene within the next few months, fans won't have much waiting to do before they find out for themselves.
