In Builders of Egypt, players step into the role of a city planner in Ancient Egypt, tasked with creating a thriving settlement along the Nile. Starting with a modest village, you’ll rely on strategic planning and resource management to develop residential areas, grow food through agriculture and construct monumental structures like temples and pyramids, ultimately transforming it into a grand city. The Nile serves as the lifeblood of your city, offering fertile soil for farming and serving as the primary route for trade and transportation.
Religion is a key aspect of Builders of Egypt. Shrines and festivals help earn the favor of the gods, while trade and diplomacy grant access to vital resources. However, the game isn’t all about peaceful growth, players must also train troops and devise strategies to protect their city from enemy attacks.
1st place in the Steam charts but mixed reviews
Builders of Egypt was created by Strategy Labs in collaboration with Games Incubator and PlayWay S.A. serving as the publisher. Thanks to its free-to-play prologue, the city builder has garnered significant attention ahead of its release, climbing to the top of Steam's "Popular Upcoming" charts on launch day.
The prologue for the building game has already received over 4,000 reviews, though the average rating of 73% is somewhat mixed. While the user interface has been criticized for being confusing and unintuitive, the primary complaints focus on technical problems and performance issues. Builders of Egypt, which was released on January 8, is available on Steam at an introductory price of $17.59 until January 22. After that, it will be offered at the normal price of $20.
