The first controller produced by M-Con Innovations is now available to back on Kickstarter. Previously called the M-Con, the controller has now lost its dash and is stylised as 'MCON'. With that being said, the final MCon is the same product that was showcased at the end of last month.
Consequently, MCon is designed to be a compact controller for pretty much any modern smartphone. Please note that the controller is primarily aimed at iPhones that support MagSafe. However, a MagSafe adapter will be included to provide compatibility with other popular smartphones, including the Pixel 8 (curr. $484.99 on Amazon) shown in promotional images.
As the images below show, the MCon hides its controls in its default posture. Pressing a pair of rear-mounted buttons reveals its Hall effect joysticks, along with its ABXY buttons and d-pad. Moreover, the device has fold-out grips for improved ergonomics. Please note that you may need to use a pair of magnetic pucks to provide enough clearance for smartphones with large camera housings, such as the iPhone 16.
Currently, the MCon is available to back on Kickstarter for $99 in black and white finishes. Pricing will soon rise to $119 and $129 though after the campaign reaches a certain amount of units sold. As it stands, OhSnap! expects to begin shipping MCon units in August 2025.
