Leaks surrounding Apple's next year's flagship iPhone 17 lineup have been plentiful despite the ink on the iPhone 16's launch being barely dry. A recent series of leaks hinted at a massive redesign for the iPhone 17 Pro's camera array, likening it to that of the Google Pixel. While that information may have some people excited, fresh intel is already here throwing a wrench in that narrative.
According to a recent Weibo post by the well-reputed tipster Instant Digital, the iPhone 17 Pro lineup will stick with the triangle camera layout that was introduced with the iPhone 11 Pro and has remained largely the same except getting bulkier every year. However, Instant Digital did mention that the back of the iPhone 17 Pro will receive a major design modification, which is a welcome update considering that the iPhone Pro's back has been on a snooze-fest for over half a decade.
Of course, considering that the iPhone 17 lineup is well over 9 months away, all the leaked information must be accepted with a fair bit of doubt. There has also been some debate on whether the iPhone 17 Pro lineup will switch to aluminum, or stick with more premium materials that set it apart from the standard variants, like titanium. As we inch nearer to its launch, supply chain leaks should become more dependable and steady. But as always, a redesign is bound to be polarizing - some will love it, others won't. Either way, we have no option but to wait and find out for ourselves.
