HP has unveiled two Thunderbolt 4.0 docks to supplement its massive contingency of laptops at CES 2025. HP Thunderbolt 4 Ultra G6 Dock comes in two flavours: 280 Watts and 180 Watts. Apart from their maximum wattage, they seem to be identical in terms of features and ports offered. Both docks are rated for Thunderbolt 4.0 and not the newer Thunderbolt 5.0 standard. The full list of I/O included on each model is as follows:
Front:
- 1x USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) with 15 Watt power output
Left:
- 1x USB Type-A 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps)
- 1x USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) with 15 Watt power output
Back:
- 2x USB Type-A 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps)

Right:

The HP Thunderbolt 4 Ultra G6 Dock also comes with a power button that can be used to wake the host device, but the feature might not work with all laptops. Depending on the SKU, the dock can output up to 180 Watts or 280 Watts of power co PD-compatible devices. For video streams, the situation is more complicated. Depending on the device connected, the HP Thunderbolt 4 Ultra G6 Dock can output up to 8K video. The maximum refresh rate is capped at 360 Hz.
