HP has presented an alternative to the LG 38GN95-B in the Series 7 Pro 738pu, which only achieves a frame rate of 60 Hz instead of 144 Hz, but offers two decisive advantages. Firstly, HP's new model uses an IPS Black panel, which achieves a contrast ratio of 2,000:1, around twice as high as regular IPS screens, thanks to deeper blacks.
Secondly, HP's screen offers a much larger selection of connectivity options, starting with two Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) ports - the input can charge laptops with up to 100 watts via USB-C Power Delivery, while the output allows additional accessories or even a second monitor to be connected via daisy chaining, whereby this port can also provide 15 watts of power. Alternatively, it is also possible to connect the display via USB-C. There are five USB-A ports (10 Gbit/s), an additional USB-C output (10 Gbit/s) and Gigabit Ethernet at the rear.

For greater compatibility, the monitor can also be connected to a PC via DisplayPort 1.4 or HDMI 2.0. The 37.5-inch IPS Black panel in 21:9 format reaches a resolution of 3840 x 1600 with a pixel density of 111 PPI, a brightness of 400 nits and 98% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space.
The screen is curved in a radius of 2,300R. 4 x 3 watt quad speakers are installed. The supplied stand can be adjusted in height by up to 15 cm, whereby VESA 100 x 100 monitor arms can also be mounted. A KVM switch and an ambient light sensor round off the features.
