Deal | Epic Games Store offers free game giveaway to celebrate Star Wars Day and LEGO

The Epic Games Store recently teased a free game giveaway to commemorate the May 4th Star Wars Day. Now that the unofficial holiday has arrived, players know which title is available for a no-cost download. PC gamers can recreate nine feature films with LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. The offer is only available until the latest Star Wars celebration ends.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has a list price of $49.99. Gamers often find the title significantly discounted on Steam. Still, the free game giveaway is unique to the Epic Games Store. Once downloaded, players can access the game indefinitely through their Epic Games account.

With over 100 Star Wars games honoring the Lucasfilm franchise, players aren't short on options. Ten of these titles are LEGO games that put a light-hearted spin on the sometimes serious movies. The action-adventure Skywalker Saga is unique since it combines multiple films into one interactive experience. After installing the game, players can choose to start with any of the three trilogies.

Despite its free game status, The Skywalker Saga bundles loads of content into one release. Developer TT Games rendered more than 300 characters in the traditional LEGO brick style. Many of these personalities are recognizable from the films. Players can also explore 23 planets using at least 100 vehicles, risking encounters with capital ships. Even as a seemingly cutesy LEGO game, the dogfighting action is intense.

In honor of Star Wars Day, the Epic Games Store also slashed the prices of several other popular titles. One highlight is the 50% discount on the open-world RPG Star Wars Outlaws.
