In celebration of the upcoming Star Wars Day, Lucasfilm Games is running a special week-long event with massive discounts on classic Star Wars games.
The EA-developed Star Wars games are notably absent from the promotion, as are more recently released titles like the Dark Forces remaster or the Star Wars Lego games. There's still plenty of time left in the event, and we might see them getting added down the line.
Star Wars Outlaws
From the controversy surrounding its pre-release tactics and price to post-release criticism for the myriad of bugs and technical issues, Star Wars Outlaws is finally resting on a "Mostly Positive" review rating on Steam.
Even with the bugs somewhat fixed, the game is still a formulaic Ubisoft open-world romp with an average storyline and run-of-the-mill action combat. It is currently 50% off during the sale, available at the lowest recorded price of $34.99 (€34.99 or £29.99).
Star Wars Battlefront (Classic, 2004) and Battlefront II (Classic, 2005)
The classic multiplayer shooters from the early 2000s can still be played online and are just as fun. The community is smaller than the newer titles, which isn't unexpected, but these remain classics for a reason.
The second one has aged better, with tighter controls and more responsive shooting mechanics, but the first one has some unique maps. If you do decide to buy them, avoid the Battlefront Classic Collection at all costs. They are widely disliked new ports of the originals that add little to them and are more or less dead online.
Both Battlefront I and Battlefront II are 75% off and will cost you only $4.98 (€4.86 or £4.24) together.
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic I and Knights of the Old Republic II
Widely regarded as some of Bioware's best work, Knights of the Old Republic I is a classic RPG with unique characters, creatures, and planets. You will learn from over 40 force powers and even get to build your own lightsaber.
The Obsidian-developed follow-up, Knights of the Old Republic II, builds on this foundation. Set five years after the first game, you play as a lone Jedi, the Old Republic's only hope as it teeters on the edge of extinction.
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic I is 75% off, available for $2.49 (€2.43 or £2.12), and Knights of the Old Republic II is also 75% off, currently priced at $2.49 (€2.43 or £2.12).
Besides these games, you can pick up Star Wars Shadow of the Empire for $1.49 (€1.47 or £1.24) at 75% off, grab the Star Wars: Rebel Assault I + II bundle for $2.49 (€2.43 or £2.12) at 75% less, get the classic 1995 version of Star Wars Dark Forces for $1.49 (€1.47 or £1.24), Star Wars Jedi Knight II - Jedi Outcast at $2.49 (€2.43 or £2.12) and many more.
