The Acer Nitro V 16 gaming laptop powered by an RTX 4060 laptop GPU, an 8-core Ryzen 7 8845HS CPU, 16 GB of RAM, and 1 TB of storage is currently retailing at a 20% discount on Amazon. The laptop has enough performance to comfortably run modern AAA games at 1080p.

Nvidia revealed its RTX 5060 laptop GPU not so long ago. Notebooks equipped with the graphics adapter are set to start at $1,099. On the surface, this seems like a good price for an entry-level RTX 5060 machine. However, the RTX 5060 laptop GPU has only 5% more CUDA cores and a lower max TGP than the RTX 4060 laptop GPU. So, it is unlikely the the laptop RTX 5060 will noticeably outperform its previous-gen counterpart.

Simply put, if you want a mid-range gaming laptop, it makes much more sense from a price/performance perspective to look at RTX 4060 machines. Thanks to frequent discounts, you can find a gaming notebook equipped with an RTX 4060 at an affordable price on pretty much any day of the week.

For instance, the RTX 4060-toting Acer Nitro V 16 (ANV16-41) is now selling for just $899.99 on Amazon (linked at the end of the article). The discounted price is around 20% or $230 lower than the $1,129.99 list price of the notebook. Per camelcamelcamel, the Acer Nitro V currently on sale is the lowest the notebook has ever gotten on Amazon.

The RTX 4060 laptop GPU isn’t the only hardware highlight of the Acer Nitro V. The GPU is paired with an 8-core/16-thread Ryzen 7 8845HS CPU that performs on the level of flagship chips like the Core i9-13900H per our testing. There is also 16 GB of DDR5 RAM that you can expand further, thanks to two SO-DIMM slots. A 1TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD is tasked with handling storage needs. Like the RAM, the storage can also be augmented to a 4 TB total using two M.2 slots.

Around the front, the Acer Nitro V 16 packs a 16-inch FHD+ IPS display. The panel rocks a fast 165 Hz refresh rate, 100% sRGB coverage, and 300 nits of brightness. On top of the display, there is a 720p webcam. We’d have liked to see a better QHD sensor like Acer offers in the Swift Go 14.

Thankfully, Acer hasn’t cut corners with the port selection. All the usual connectors, except an SD card reader, are present, including a USB4 port with DP and PD.

To sum it all up, the Acer Nitro V 16 has all the markings of a solid mid-range gaming laptop that won't feel underpowered.
