The first game in the series, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, was released in November 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows, selling over 10 million units in a year and getting nominated for several awards. Then it was released for the Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 5 (available on Amazon for $499) in June 2021.
In April 2023, EA and Respawn Entertainment announced a sequel called Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for the PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and Windows. The game has now been released for the Xbox One and PS4 today, September 17.
The third game doesn't have a name yet neither does it have a release date, but according to Laura Miele, the president of EA Entertainment and Technology, it is being developed by Respawn Entertainment. Although, Stig Asmussen, the director of the first two games has left Respawn and formed his own game studio, it has been reported that he hoped to make the game a trilogy.
When the third and final Star Wars Jedi game arrives, it should still have Cal Kestis return as the protagonist. However, it remains to be seen if it will be released before the next generation of gaming consoles. If it does launch before Sony and Microsoft announce their next-gen consoles, the likelihood of it being released for the PS4 and Xbox One seems low.
