The existence of Titanfall 3 has been a mystery as leaks and rumors pointing towards its development keep getting shot down, or so it seems. A new leak now hints at the game being much further in its development cycle and this comes from an Apex Legends and Helldivers partner on Twitch and YouTube. As to how much of it is true, some fans are already skeptical with a few holding hope.
The latest bit of information comes from Thordan Smash over at Xcancel. Smash is a “Twitch & YouTube Partner on Apex Legends & Helldivers News” and was also an Apex Legends Oxygen Esports Manager. Apex Legends has been developed by Respawn, the same company behind the Titanfall series. In a post on Xcancal, Smash has claimed that he has spoken with a few sources and is “75% sure Titanfall 3 is actually in development.”
He goes on to state that there is even a playable version of the game floating around, but there is no information on a release timeframe yet. “..but it’s real,” the post adds.
Earlier this month, a leaker claimed that Titanfall 3 is almost complete and that it is based on Unreal Engine 5. The leak also mentioned a singleplayer campaign and various multiplayer modes, including Extraction, Team Deathmatch, Control, Arenas, and all Titanfall 2 classic modes. However, these rumors were shot down by Jeff Grubb, an author who has worked as a computer and role-playing game designer. Grubb stated that this is not real and that the small team at Respawn is “probably messing around with games that have titans in them”.
Redditors are skeptical of the latest leak and rightfully so, as they have been disappointed in the past. Titanfall 2 was released in 2016 and has Overwhelmingly Positive reviews on Steam.
