Game Pass subscribers can look forward to four new additions next week. Alongside a lesser-known co-op RPG, the lineup includes three major titles from the open-world adventure, city-building strategy and first-person shooter genres.

Four new titles are coming to Xbox Game Pass next week, including three AAA releases. Here's a quick overview of what players can expect from each game.

Towerborne - April 29 (Cloud, Xbox Series X/S and PC)

Towerborne takes players into a vibrant, comic book-inspired fantasy world, now shrouded in darkness. The last safe haven is the Belfry tower, surrounded by a world overrun with monsters and mysterious forces. From this sanctuary, powerful Ascendants venture out to restore hope and order. The game follows a seasonal model, introducing new quests, enemies and story content over time. Choices made by players have lasting effects, shaping the evolving game world in what the developers call a “Living World” experience.

At its heart, Towerborne is a side-scrolling action RPG built around co-op gameplay – either with up to three friends or solo with AI companions. Combat is fast-paced and demands quick reflexes, offering a variety of playstyles through weapons like swords, fists, axes and magic. Teamwork is key, with buffs and synergies playing a major role. An RPG-style progression system lets players customize gear, abilities and appearance, adding depth and long-term appeal.

Far Cry 4 - April 30 (Cloud, console and PC)

Released in 2014, Far Cry 4 is now over a decade old, but it still delivers for fans of chaotic action and expansive open worlds. Players step into the role of Ajay Ghale, who returns to his homeland of Kyrat to honor his mother's final wish – only to become entangled in a brutal civil war between rebel forces and the flamboyant dictator Pagan Min.

Far Cry 4 blends open-world exploration with shooter action and plenty of creative freedom. Players can traverse mountains, jungles and villages, launching attacks using weapons, vehicles or even elephants – either solo or in co-op. Alongside main and side missions, there are outposts to liberate, towers to scale, animals to hunt and gear to craft. The world feels alive, with patrolling enemies and dynamic reactions, allowing for multiple approaches to nearly every situation.

Anno 1800 - May 1 (Cloud, Xbox Series X/S and PC)

Released in 2019, Anno 1800 is the latest entry in the beloved city-building strategy series. Set during the Industrial Revolution, it immerses players in an era of technological change and colonial expansion. Players establish island empires, discover new continents and develop intricate economic systems. Beyond production and trade, the game also emphasizes diplomacy, expeditions and naval warfare, offering a rich and layered strategic experience.

Players must optimize production chains, design cities for maximum efficiency and establish global trade routes. Alongside the familiar Old World, the exotic New World introduces unique resources and its own set of challenges. With a steady stream of DLCs adding new population tiers, mechanics and scenarios, Anno 1800 has become one of the most expansive and content-rich entries in the series.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II - May 1 (Cloud, Console and PC)

Released in 2022, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is the direct follow-up to the 2019 reboot, once again spotlighting the elite Task Force 141 with familiar faces like Captain Price, Soap and Ghost. Set in a modern conflict scenario, the story centers on global threats and terrorist networks. The cinematic campaign takes players across multiple countries, blending stealth missions with intense, large-scale combat.

As a first-person shooter, Modern Warfare II stands out with weapon modding, a diverse multiplayer experience and intense co-op missions. Alongside classic modes like Team Deathmatch, Domination and Search & Destroy, the game introduces new maps, updated perk systems and modern movement mechanics such as the "Dolphin Dive" and edge hanging. With Gunsmith 2.0, players can fine-tune their loadouts more precisely than ever, customizing everything from attachments and camouflage to performance tweaks.
