Netflix reveals release date for Squid Game game to coincide with the second season of the series

Squid Game tells the story of 456 people who compete against each other in a deadly competition to win huge prize money. The South Korean series was released in 2021 and broke all records. The Netflix in-house production is now the most-watched series on the streaming platform in 90 countries.

While the second season of the hit series was already confirmed in June 2022 netflix only announced the Squid Game in December 2023. Nevertheless, the game and series are to be released at the same time - and as announced in the quarterly report, this should be the case very soon. According to Netflix, the release will take place "later this year". Fans can therefore expect the game and season 2 of the series to be released in the fourth quarter of 2024 at the latest.

Multiplayer game in the Squid Game universe

All we know about the game so far is that it is designed for multiple players. It is therefore conceivable that players will be competing against each other in different, typically life-threatening Squid Game games. It is not yet known on which platforms Squid Game will be playable. A trailer is also still awaited.
