Products born out of collaboration are (mostly) cool. The special edition Beats Solo 4 is no different, if you're a Minecraft fan that is (which is also about to get its very own series on Netflix). The company posted an animated introduction video on YouTube alongside the launch. The headphones feature a black/green color scheme with a 'Minecraft block' design pattern and a 'Creeper' from the game visible in on the inner side of the headband, just above the earcup.
The Beats x Minecraft Solo 4 retains the audio capabilities of the standard Solo 4 model (currently $119 in an Amazon Prime Day Deal), offering Bluetooth, USB-C wired, and 3.5mm wired connectivity options. The 40 mm drivers specially developed for the Beats Solo 4 are intended to deliver a balanced sound signature. The Solo 4 are claimed to deliver up to 50 hours of battery life and have support for personalized spatial audio. The headphones can be paired with both Android and iOS devices, and support both Apple's "Find My" and Google's "Find My Device" feature.
Those who purchase the limited edition headphones will receive a code to unlock exclusive in-game headphone character creator items. To further celebrate the partnership, Beats and Minecraft have also released a curated Spatial Audio playlist on Apple Music.
The Beats x Minecraft Special Edition Solo 4 headphones are priced at $199.99 and will be available for purchase starting July 18 at Apple and Target.
